Kozhikode: Abate Eye Hospital has introduced SMILE Pro with VisuMax 800, the latest eye treatment technology for removing spectacles. Panakkad Sayyid Nasir Abdul Hayy Shihab Thangal performed the soft launch at the Abate LASIK Centre.
Abate Group Chairman Dr. A. Samsudeen; Abate Eye Hospital Directors Dr. M. A. Safarulla, Dr. Shaji Hussain and Dr. Rajesh P; Abate Group of Companies Co-Chairman Muhammad Kutty; Chief Medical Director Dr. Muhemmed Swadique; and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Mohammad Shefshaf were also present.
SMILE Pro treatment is performed using the VisuMax 800, developed by the German company ZEISS. Abate Eye Hospital has begun this new step forward with the aim of bringing the world's best eye treatments and most advanced technologies to the people of Kerala.
Dr. Shaji Hussain said the main feature of the treatment is that spectacles can be removed without a flap, through a very small incision, and patients can return home the same day without a hospital stay. He added that it takes less than about nine seconds per eye.
Abate Group Chairman Dr. A. Samsudeen said that PRESBYOND, an advanced vision correction treatment for people over 45 who struggle with spectacles because of presbyopia, is offered in Kerala only by Abate Eye Hospital.
